FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW WE GOT STARTED
Long story short: TTT was a divinely inspired and progressive answer to a personal prayer by its founder Tiffany Robertson after the events surrounding Michael Brown and Von Derritt Meyers in 2014.
WHO WE ARE
The vision for TTT is to cultivate empathy among diverse community members through ongoing and honest discourse that identifies, challenges, and disrupts behavior patterns that contribute to interpersonal racial bias.
WHEN & WHERE
Please contact us directly for active session information.
DO I HAVE TO COMMIT?
Commitment is essential for any sincere change agent to be activated, so yep. Most participants come to the TTT experience because they are genuinely eager to explore a new way of interacting cross racially and it is not our desire to have someone participate who is comfortable with the status quo.
WHY WE DO IT
To initiate racial bias awareness on a micro level that advances action steps on the mezzanine and macro level.
HOW WE DO IT
By unpacking the sum of our respective experiences over specific subjects transparently and agreeing to extend grace for someone’s else’s truth even when we disagree or find it uncomfortable to digest.
IS TTT A SAFE PLACE?
As the name implies, our conversations can be edgy and considered too difficult for some to explore, so it shouldn’t be broadcast as a safe space. The relationships formed may make the participants feel safe among one another, but the TTT experience is about personal development within an uncomfortable process.
WHAT WE DO
Choose to intentionally integrate by becoming accountable to BIPOC within the organic relationships formed through these ongoing dialogues.
IS THERE A COST?
Yes, but not as high as the price you are paying to not engage.
WHAT IF I WANT THE CONVERSATIONS, NOT THE RELATIONSHIPS?
Kick rocks! It is almost impossible to share these weekly conversations and not develop relationally toward other participants’ is designed specifically to cultivate relationships with people who are different, and who we would normally draw back from because…well… segregation worked. That’s why the model is #CommunitytheRemix.
WHAT ELSE DO YOU DO?
We party like rock stars!! Or, maybe more like an orchestra. The point is we strengthen our relationships through Freestyle Fellowships where we just hang out and celebrate each other! No occasion necessary. We realize that the conversations are important, but the fellowships are essential because we all have this in common: We are all inadequately human subject to this thing called life and need each other!
WILL I HAVE TO DO A SERVICE PROJECT?
No. TTT is about personal growth, so we never ask you to do or participate in anything other than your own development in whatever topic we are exploring. There may be some opportunities to #ConnectServeSupport other participants if you share a common interest, but this is completely strictly optional.
IS TTT AFFILIATED POLITICALLY OR RELIGIOUSLY?
Nope. TTT is not a religious or political organization, although its founder is unapologetically Christian; however, the intention of her vision is to help those who are least alike to build relationships even across political and religious beliefs.
